A common problem I find when designing a dramatic eye look is how to integrate cheek and lip colours without ending up with too many colours.
A solution to this is to integrate your 'apple' blush colour into the eye design, either as a focus colour or a blending colour on the brow bone.

The joy of red lipstick!
Luscious red lips: classically beautiful or edgy and sharp, red lips will always make a statement. The rules tell us never to pair red lips with coloured eyelids: what do you think??
The secret to a beautiful finish is to line with a quality pencil and apply thinly in layers. Some take the easy option and use a stayput colour - please don't! One of the joys of lipstick is re-application! However, choose your moment! If you are going out for dinner, choose a neutral! There's nothing worse than being unable to enoy your meal/drinks because you are afraid of losing your lipstick - and red lips are very unforgiving in this way. So unless you want to cut your food in tiny pieces, go with a colour that is close to your natural lip to disguise colour loss.

Great colour for cheeks and eyes!
A lot of my clients have been asking for red eyeshadow, which is a hot fashion colour this year. For most of us, true red on the eyes can be a little clownish, so I recommend 'runway' blush by motives for a pretty alternative. It looks great as a focus colour with black eyeliner all around the waterline, and a little 'gun metal' or other smoky grey to soften around the eye. Used on a damp brush it will show true and intense. I paired it with a dark red sheer lipstick for a romantic evening look and it was definitely not clownish or too 'drag', especially when wearing black clothing. I have worn it during the day with pink and denim and it also worked well, albeit with a neutral lip.
